PhDs involve lots of end stages and false summits - final draft, submission, viva (examination), minor corrections, printing and binding, approval, emailed spreadsheet of recent PhDs awarded by the university (!) and then the actual certificate. The viva last summer felt like the big moment but it is nice to finally have the paperwork and my new gender-ambiguous title.
